Woods Humane Society is currently working with local elementary schools to proved the youth of San Luis Obispo County an opportunity to learn about the humane treatment of animals, empathy, animal overpopulation, careers in the animal welfare field, the importance of spaying and neutering of companion animals, the issues that shelters face with animal cruelty and operations, responsible pet ownership, bite prevention, and breed specific topics.
