How do I adopt a dog or cat from Woods Humane Society?

 
 

Come out to Woods Humane Society and meet the dogs and cats waiting for a home. Our Animal Care Staff will help you find the right match. You can also view all of our current guests online at www.petfinder.com.

  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Have a valid identification with your current address.
  • Bring along any resident dogs and family members to get to know the animal prior to adoption.
  • Understand that Woods Humane Society reserves the right to deny an adoption for any reason.

Our adoption fees include initial vaccinations, spay/neuter surgery, initial intake exam and health screening, microchipping, collar, leash, complimentary bag of food, and any items from our donated pet supply area (which may include toys, treats, beds, dog houses, leashes, collars, bowls, pet doors, all depending on current stock).

Adoption Fees: as of July 2008

Puppies and Kittens
under 4 months of age:
  $150
(includes $25 refundable Rabies Deposit)
Dogs and Cats
between 4 months and up to 7 years of age:
  $115
Dogs and Cats
7 years and older:
  $65

It is our policy that every animal in our adoption program will be spayed or neutered by our resident veterinarian prior to their adoption.

SLOVOAD - Lead Agency for large-scale disaster

Woods Humane Society is actively participating as a Lead Agency for SLOVOAD. In the event of a large-scale local disaster, Woods Humane Society will mobilize our resources to support displaced local pets.
